our world has practically demanded we arrive in our commitment toward passionate reflective and contemplative practices. meditation is an effect of our commitment to affect our mind and body by bringing intention made of fire along with attention made of ice. between these two forces lyes our path of cultivating awareness along with depth of breath. creating a sense of union within these forces is the science of yoga.
my personal life journey has been guided by a study of yoga that began before i really even knew about yoga. while the overwhelming expression of yoga in our culture has been made through people doing poses on mats, it is the felt experience within the yoga asana that is most interesting and valuable to me as a reflective practice. it’s true that a good physical practice feels good and delivers beneficial effect for our body, underneath the physical practices is a potent set of principles that offer insight into the very heart of being a living human in the natural world.
private and group practices have different values and opportunity for us to practice and hone our sense of feeling, expression and attention. my intention is to guide and support your personal practice with sophistication and lightness, to be the wind at your back and the insight just out of reach from your eyes. in a private session, i will hold support your personal meditation and yoga asana practice while holding up a candle toward the collective teachings of yoga and self inquiry.
